I upgraded to Quicken Mac 2017, after having been a Quicken user for many years. 2017 is way better than the other post-Quicken Mac 2007 versions. The import from Quicken Mac 2007 went well. Some things have changed, but it is almost as powerful. The one thing that I noticed missing is the automatic amortization of loans, like house mortgage payments. I'll have to manually input the principal/interest portions of the payment. Presumably, this will be added in the future. One other thing that has changed is the use of 'tags' instead of classes/subclasses. It is different, but probably equally acceptable. Overall, I am fairly happy with Quicken Mac 2017.
There are some users reporting relatively recently that Quicken running on a VM no longer downloads transactions with One Step Update. Starting around, I have been unsuccessful at using One Step Update. I am running Quicken 2017 (due to failing Quicken 2015 as well) on an iMac using VirtualBox/Windows 10. I have three Mac computers that have Windows virtual machines so that I can run Quicken Windows on each. The single Quicken data file is on a shared drive USB connected to my router and can be opened and saved from any of the computers.
